Cobra Lily

Darlingtonia

Growing indoors

Growing inside often works better because you have more control over extremes of temperature. Use a sunny windowsill with the plant standing in about 2cms of water.

Growing from seed

This is very hard as first you need to saturate them with water and then put then in the fridge for 3 months then they are very delicate - just hard to start them off.

Flowering

Cobra Lilies have great flowers and are very easy to grow. If you just keep them in the right conditions they will produce their amazing flowers for you

Potting up and Compost

Pot on with 50% sand and 50% peat

Growing outside

Growing these plants outside is very hard as they need to be in a bright place without getting too hot, one of the major problems is that the plant over heats gets mouldy and then dies on you. Most books and guides say that you should grow in dappled shade outside.
